With the monsoon approaching, a group of farmers gathered for a hands-on workshop on one of the most practical skills for water security: capturing rainwater where it falls and using it to recharge the ground below.

The session covered low-cost techniques any farmer can build: recharge pits, farm ponds, contour bunds and rooftop collection. None require expensive equipment — only the right design and a little shared effort.
सत्र में कोई भी किसान बना सके ऐसी कम लागत वाली तकनीकें शामिल थीं — रिचार्ज गड्ढे, खेत तालाब, कंटूर बंध और छत संग्रहण।
From dependence to security / निर्भरता से सुरक्षा तक
By storing rain during the wet months, farmers reduce their dependence on borewells that often run dry in summer. Even a few well-placed structures can keep water available when crops need it most.
बरसात के महीनों में पानी संचित कर किसान उन बोरवेलों पर निर्भरता घटाते हैं जो अक्सर गर्मियों में सूख जाते हैं।
Knowledge that spreads / फैलता ज्ञान
The farmers who attended will now share these methods with neighbours, multiplying the impact across the village. Water conservation works best when a whole community takes it up together.
