On a cool monsoon morning in Tikari, dozens of volunteers, schoolchildren and farmers gathered with a shared purpose: to give back to the land that sustains them. Together they planted hundreds of native saplings across the village and its surroundings.

Choosing the right trees / सही पेड़ चुनना
The drive focused on hardy native species suited to Betul's climate — including neem, mahua, amla and fruit trees that benefit both people and wildlife. These trees not only survive local conditions but also support traditional foods and livelihoods.

Every sapling, a guardian / हर पौधे का एक संरक्षक
What made this drive different was the commitment that followed the planting. Each sapling was adopted by a family or student who pledged to water and protect it through its critical first years — the time when most young trees are otherwise lost.
इस अभियान को अलग बनाने वाली बात रोपण के बाद का संकल्प था। हर पौधा किसी परिवार या विद्यार्थी द्वारा गोद लिया गया।
Growing together / साथ बढ़ते हुए
Beyond the trees, the day strengthened something just as important — a sense of shared responsibility for the environment. As these saplings grow, so will the community's pride in having planted them.
